This was supposed to be the year the blues made it over the hump. Their young talent was starting to develop and they tried to add some veterans to the mix to make this year the one they finally moved back into contention to make the playoffs.
Even though the season started well this team collapsed under the pressure of a playoff race. Maybe this will make them stronger for next season. but the swoon late this year is not all their fault. I think the NHL was unfair to them by giving them a 9 game road trip in the middle of the strech run. i wish they could have gave them some of those road games when they had weeks early in the season with just 1 or 0 games. but the main problem i saw from the blues over this last strech of games was that they over used Legace in the months of January through march. goalies of that age are not supposed to play that many games in a row. Also majorly unacheiving was Paul Karyia who was brought in to add scoring to the Blues and he barely got 10 goals if even that many this teams 2nd half was a complete disaster as they will finish worse then they did last year with a better cast of characters.
